DZG statement on the Russian invasion of Ukraine
We, the German Centers for Health Research (DZG), consider the Russian invasion of Ukraine an attack on elementary values of freedom, democracy and self-determination, on which scientific freedom and opportunities for cooperation are based. We are deeply appalled by the recent attacks on civilians, hospitals and universities in Ukraine. We stand in solidarity with our Ukrainian colleagues and equally with our Russian colleagues who oppose this war.

DZNE offers special fellowship program for researchers from Ukraine
As a sign of solidarity, DZNE has established its own special fellowship program for scientists from Ukraine, the "DZNE Fellowship for Ukrainian Scientists".
Within this framework, DZNE research groups can support individual researchers (PhD students and qualified PostDocs) with a stipend of 1,365 € per month for an initial period of 6 months. In addition, a subsidy for health insurance (max. 100 €) and a family allowance can be added. It is possible to extend the fellowship to a total duration of 12 months.
Applications for the DZNE Fellowship can be submitted via DZNE working group leaders to ukraine-help(at)dzne.de; further information is also available at this email address.
In addition, DZNE provides assistance to Ukrainian scientists in applying for fellowships or other funding in external institutions and organizations. The requirements, the amount and also the duration of the funding depend on the regulations of the external institution. In these cases, DZNE usually acts as the hosting organization.
