In the context of an international scientific community, we are helping to advance all areas of research in neurodegenerative diseases.

At ten sites throughout Germany, and in its more than 80 research groups, the DZNE offers scientists excellent conditions for research. Along with a state-of-the-art research infrastructure, and a wide array of options for networking throughout the scientific community, we offer you numerous opportunities for personal and professional growth.

In addition to plenty of freedom for your scientific research, we – via your colleagues in the areas of administration and scientific support – offer you support for use of state-of-the-art technologies, submission of applications for third-party funding, and collaboration with national and international university hospitals, research institutions and industry partners.

In addition, research group leaders have the opportunity to take part in the programs of the Helmholtz Leadership Academy. For our Helmholtz Young Investigator Group leaders, the Helmholtz Leadership Academy also offers a specially tailored program that focuses on the leadership challenges group leaders typically encounter as they establish their own research group.

Innovative research depends on having the right research conditions and a suitable infrastructure – and those are precisely what our administrative and scientific-support areas provide.

The extensive infrastructure that the DZNE's administrative areas – including standard areas such as human resources, finance and purchasing – and our scientific support staff provide includes the following: IT resources, our Core Facilities, Lab Management and Technical Infrastructure services, an extensive library, a Scientific Strategy Office and a Department for Third-Party Funding. In short, our support staff help make it possible for our researchers at the DZNE to conduct cutting-edge research.
