The DZNE pursues cutting-edge research, at top international standards, in the area of neurodegenerative diseases. It is one of the most productive research institutions worldwide in its field. The DZNE offers its more than 300 doctoral researchers and postdocs excellent research opportunities, as well as a wide range of support for personal growth and for earning of scientific qualifications. Thanks to the DZNE’s interdisciplinary, translational research strategy, doctoral researchers and postdocs at the DZNE have opportunities to work with world-renowned experts, and to conduct cutting-edge research, in a range of different areas.
The DZNE's more than 80 research groups, and its outstanding research infrastructure, support a wide range of research topics and methodological approaches for doctoral researchers and postdocs working to obtain scientific credentials and seeking to pursue their own research ideas.
In addition, the DZNE provides early career researchers with access to state-of-the-art research infrastructures, at a total of 10 sites throughout Germany, and the DZNE's Career Center offers numerous preparatory and informational offers oriented to career development and advancement.
We have prepared a handbook for our doctoral researchers and postdocs that provides a complete overview of qualification phases at the DZNE. We send it to all new employees, as part of our recruitment processes, and make it available on our intranet.
