Dr. Sabine Helling-Moegen is the new Administrative Director of the German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases
Together with Professor Pierluigi Nicotera, Chairman of the Executive Board and Scientific Director, Helling-Moegen leads the research institute with more than 800 employees spread across nine sites in Germany. Dr. Helling-Moegen works in the administrative headquarters in Bonn.
„The DZNE gains a notably experienced scientific manager, who has worked in diverse leadership positions and gained extensive experience and understanding of the Helmholtz Association,” says Professor Nicotera. “I am sure, that she will significantly contribute to the continued development of the DZNE.”
Her career started with her PhD in law in 2002, followed by the position of executive assistant to the administrative director of the German Cancer Research Center in Heidelberg. In 2006, she transitioned to become the head of administration at the Helmholtz Association head office. There, she was not only responsible for administrative matters, but also for scientific political administrative issues within the Helmholtz Association. Her responsibilities also included project management for the development of the Helmholtz Management Academy. In 2011 she became head of human resources for the finance and investment consulting company MLP AG in Wiesloch, near Heidelberg.
