MethodForum Witten

Background

The complexity of the phenomenon of dementia poses challenges for science and society. In addition to differentiated basic research and a variety of clinical studies, research has been established in recent years that approaches the phenomenon of dementia using qualitative methodological approaches. The phenomenon of dementia takes qualitative methodologies into borderline areas, such as the limits of understanding meaning, and challenges them in their fundamentals. Against this background, the Witten Method Forum is dedicated to methodological reflection and innovation.

Conference format

The conference format of MethodForum Witten is an annual event with a focus on qualitative methods in the context of translational dementia-specific health services research. The aim is to bring people who conduct qualitative research with people with dementia into a fruitful exchange in order to learn from and with each other. Challenges and potential of selected research approaches and specific methods applied in the research field are discussed and further developed together.
