Opening event of the DZNE Career Center
The DZNE has start withed a Career Center at the beginning of 2020 in order to better support postdocs and doctoral students in the final phase of their doctoral studies in questions of career planning and development. The Career Center will provide information on various career options within and outside of the science community and offers workshops, webinars and individual advice on career issues.
At the opening event on February 6, Dr. Sabrina Lehner, project leader for the Career Center, presented the Career Center's offerings to young scientists and managers. These will be further expanded in the coming months. In addition, Benedikt Böhm, extreme mountaineer and managing director of Dynafit, gave an inspiring keynote speech in which he explained to those present how important it is to plan and prepare well and early in order to achieve challenging projects and goals.
The development of the DZNE Career Center is supported by an initiative of the Helmholtz Association with 150,000 Euros per year for a period of up to five years. The funding period is initially three years. After a successful interim evaluation, this funding can be extended by two years.
